Ancient origins
It was born with the name “crott del Balin”, a refreshment point for those who frequented the Sentiero del Viandante and a Sunday meeting place for the people of Bellano who spent the afternoon in company, each in front of his “cup” of nostranel and a few slices of salami.
At the beginning of the 60s, the management passed to the Denti family. Mauro, known as Maurin, expanded the premises and with his wife Margherita opened the Crotto di Biosio.
Snacks based on local salami and cheeses from nearby Valsassina, agoni cooked in all ways and local chicken with mushrooms collected in the woods around Biosio became the calling card of the crotto, which on Sundays was crowded with visitors from the area and also from nearby Brianza.

Panoramic terraces invite you to take in a breathtaking view known worldwide: Lake Como. During the summer, the Crotto Restaurant offers guests the opportunity to dine on the terraces. Located 300 meters above Lake Como, it boasts stunning views that captivate the eye with a wide expanse of lake and mountains.
